Chemdawg, aka Chemdog, is a legendary connoisseur strain that doesn’t disappoint! It offers up some serious potency, exceptional yields, a delicious aroma and flavor, and an overall well-balanced and pleasant smoking experience.
This indica-dominant strain is a cross between a Nepalese Landrace and a Thai Landrace, and has been so successful it has been used as a parent for many strains that have reached premium status, including Sour Diesel and OG Kush. Chemdawg has high THC levels, between 20-25%, and an excellent terpene profile containing 7.32% total terpenes that include: linalool, caryophyllene oxide, myrcene, beta-pinene, limonene, terpinolene, alpha-pinene, humulene, and caryophyllene.
More suited to experienced cultivators, Chemdawg is a favorite choice among cash croppers, due to its impressive yields. It has an indoor flowering time of only 9-10 weeks, yielding around 600-800g/m2. Outdoors, it is ready to harvest in October and can yield as much as 2000-3000g/plant! It does particularly well with SCROG methods. As these plants can grow quite tall, growers are advised to use dowels to keep the plants from snapping and to also keep them upright when they flower.
Chemdawg produces an abundance of medium-sized, tapered, dense buds, which grow rich in glistening silvery-white THC crystals towards the end of the flowering phase. These sticky buds have many reddish orange pistils threaded throughout. The flavor of Chemdawg is particularly delicious, as it offers up sweet and sour citrus tastes, as well as a smooth smoke. The aroma has a classic diesel/fuel tone to it, which many believe is where the ‘Chem’ part of Chemdawg comes from. There are also notes of earthy musk and pine.
The effects from Chemdawg are powerful but well-balanced. The high hits fast, sometimes as quick as a toke or two! Smokers experience a classic sativa head-buzz, with heightened sensitivity and hyperawareness, which may become more cerebral and introspective overtime. These qualities make it a great choice for deep conversations and creative pursuits. There is also a very relaxing classic indica body high, which doesn’t quite couch-lock.
