Durban Poison

Product Description

The ever-popular pure sativa (100%) strain Durban Poison, is a licorice-tasting plant that delivers some bumper yields of low-THC crops that can be harvested relatively quickly.

Durban Poison is a pure South African sativa landrace strain that made its way from South Africa to Amsterdam in the 1970s. It has a THC content of between 15% to 26%, with the CBD content coming in at around 0.19% and CBN less than 0.1%. Some of the main terpenes include terpinolene, at 0.72%, beta-caryophyllene at 0.19%, and alpha humulene at 0.02%.

It’s time-tested and hardy genetics make Durban Poison a popular choice among new growers. This superb strain gives some great results in any environment, and as it is incredibly mold- and pest-resistant she performs very well outdoors as well as in artificial light conditions. Indoor harvests are ready within 7-9 weeks, with yields of around 450-650g/m2; as this strain can grow large, cultivators will want to control the height in the early vegetative stage. Outdoors, harvests can reach 3 meters in height before being ready, typically in late September or early October in the Northern hemisphere, with yields of 450-650g/plant.

Durban Poison is a fast-growing strain that produces tall, bushy plants, with medium-to-large buds that have a dense, compact structure and a long, tapered shape. You can recognize this strain by the bright forest green leaves, vivid orange pistils, milky-white trichomes, and super sticky coating. The amount of resin makes this a great choice for making concentrates. The aroma has a classic dank scent that is lifted by a sweet licorice quality that is particularly distinctive, with a sweet, hash note along with a subtle hint of clove. The flowers are very pungent and skunky and give off a thick, lung-expanding smoke, where the licorice flavor is very prominent on the exhale, along with the taste of sweet pine sap.

The effects are all clearly very sativa, with a potent, clear, uplifting, energizing, high that is akin to that of some Thai strains. The clear, focused high hits first, often coming with increased senses. It morphs into an active head high that has a bit of a buzz to it. It mainly affects the mind and is particularly favored among creatives and socialites, as well as those who are partial to a wake-and-bake strain.
