Gorilla Glue (aka Gorilla Glue #4, Original Glue or GG4) is a powerful award-winning hybrid (50% indica, 50% sativa) that hit the cannabis scene in 2016. It is the result of some seriously advanced backcrossing, bringing the impressive genetics of three superb strains to the table: Chem’s Sister, Chocolate Diesel, and Sour Dubb. With parents such as this, creating a strain with potent effects and great taste and aroma, it’s no wonder GG4 has gained such epic popularity so fast.
Lab reports put the THC content at between 24-31%, with an average CBD content of 0.12% and CBG at around 0.18%. You’ll also find a complex terpene profile containing 13.23% total terpenes including linalool, myrcene, terpinolene, alpha-pinene, humulene, and caryophyllene.
Gorilla Glue is fairly easy to cultivate and can be grown indoors or outdoors but is particularly successful when grown outdoors in warm climates, where growers will be rewarded with decent yields of 500-600g/plant ready to harvest in October. It has an indoor flowering time of 8-9 weeks, producing yields of 450-550g/m2. As these ladies can get pretty tall, growers are advised to regularly trim them in order to maximize your chances of bigger yields of beautiful dark olive-green, chunky buds, which are covered in orange pistils and a frosty coating of resinous trichomes.
When it comes to the aroma and flavor, the Chocolate Diesel parent really shines as you are hit with very strong tones of mocha coffee and a more subtle sour hint of diesel, with some delicious sweet and earthy elements too. As a full-bodied smoke, it is known to be quite a moreish strain so be prepared to want to keep going back to it!
The effects of Gorilla Glue come on pretty quickly and are long-lasting. Smokers can expect to feel happy and uplifted, while also being ultra-relaxed and even a little bit giggly. As a potent strain, couch-lock is probable, making it a great choice for unwinding after a long day.
